Jerami Grant has moved to Portland!

2022 draft prep and ‘free agency’ officially launched in Michigan: ESPN does announce that the Pistons are sending Jerami Grant to Portlandin exchange for the 2025 first round draft (protected 1-4) originally held by Milwaukee.

Important information, because this choice will definitely come at the end of the first round of the 2025 draft, since the Bucks, if there is no cataclysm, should continue to occupy the leading roles in the Eastern Conference for three years.

The two clubs also traded their second-round picks, with Detroit now in 36th and Portland choosing 46th (in addition to 57th).

In addition, the Pistons receive two second-round picks from the Blazers in exchange: one in the 2025 draft and the other in the 2026 draft (best between Portland and New Orleans).

For the Blazers, who wanted to pacify and surround Damian Lillard this summer, this is certainly a great operation: Jerami Grant lands in Oregon without the 7th pick included in the deal. Grant, who followed in the footsteps of his father Harvey, a former Portland player.

The Pistons have been preparing for a transfer for several weeks now, but you might be surprised at the meager equivalent they received in exchange for a strong winger.

In any case, having offloaded the final year of Jerami Grant’s $20.9 million contract, the Michigan club is easing its finances in the week before free agency opens.
